Wayne E. Hebert (A-bear)

December 19, 1941 - October 23, 2023



It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of one of our own. Wayne Hebert, beloved speaker, former president and co-founder of NCPE, passed away on October 23 at the age of 81.

With a mutual passion for accounting and a shared gift of gab, Wayne and Jerry first became friends over 53 years ago. The two initially teamed up to teach for the Louisiana Society of Independent Accountants. Then just four years later, they set out on their own to form NCPE.

Wayne's leadership skills served as a constant source of inspiration, and his commitment to excellence helped to lay a strong foundation for NCPE’s 48-year history. For nearly half a century, Wayne enthusiastically shared his vast knowledge of tax law with fellow practitioners across the nation. But perhaps his greatest joy was found in the friendships forged along the way. 

Wayne was a dear friend and respected colleague whose passing leaves a void that simply cannot be filled. He will be deeply missed by us all.
